Three years ago, I received a message from a couple who had always been intrigued by yoga but never had the patience to try. They knew the benefits—strength, flexibility, mindfulness—but committing to a practice felt daunting. Then, something clicked at a birthday party, where a friend led them through a casual yoga session. After that single class, they knew they needed to find someone in their area to help them continue their practice, and their friend recommended me.
Fast forward to today, and they are beaming with pride over how far they’ve come. It’s not about how deep their backbends are or how long they can hold a balancing pose. It’s about the small, consistent steps that turned into giant leaps over time.
Initially, sitting comfortably on the mat for breathing exercises felt challenging. Forward folds were stiff, and balancing poses felt impossible. But they kept showing up. Week after week, through laughter and frustration, days when they felt strong and days when they felt stuck, they stuck with it.
Now, they move with ease, grace, and confidence or have compassion for themselves when they do not. They can hold poses they once thought were out of reach, flow through sequences with steadiness, and, most importantly, connect with their breath in a way that carries them far beyond the yoga mat. They’re no longer just “trying” yoga—they’ve made it a part of their lives.
While I’ve had the honor of guiding them, the credit belongs entirely to their dedication. They put in the work, embraced the process, and found joy in the journey.
Their story is a reminder that yoga isn’t about flexibility or achieving picture-perfect poses. It’s about showing up for yourself, listening to your body, and trusting that progress comes with consistency. Whether you're a beginner or years into your practice, the magic happens when you commit to the process.
To my incredible clients—thank you for letting me be a part of your journey. Your growth is inspiring, and I can’t wait to see where the next three years take you!
